Manager News

It has been brought to my attention that people would like to hear non-baseball accomplishments/events of people in the league when they occur.  To that end I would like to announce that I have completed my MBA at Pepperdine University.  Graduation was on 5 August.

I would also like to congratulate Carey of Davidson's Demolition Crew who should be closing escrow on a new house in the next few days.

If there are any other tidbits of information out there let me knwo so I cna share them wiht the league.

One Block Left

Most of the division races are mostly over.    The Rivermen who already have 94 wins have a 16 game lead in the Puckett.  Lest anybody think they are just beating up on a weak division, the top four teams are playing over .550 ball and even the two teams tied for last are only four games under .500 and would tied for third in either Telgemeier Division.  The Cajuns have a comfortable eight game lead over Dad's Red Necks.  The wild card race in Bialaszewski is a three team race with the Jack sand Harts holding the  two spots and the Red Necks two games back.  The Phillies and Usual Suspects are hanging on by a thread.  IN the Telgemeier, the BadSneakers have a comfortable 10 game lead over the Solons in the Schmidt.  The Longballers are leading the Pioneers by five in the Ryan, the clsoest of all Divisions.  The Solons and Pioneers (the only other teams over .500 in the Telgemeier seem to be in good shape for the card with three teams six games out.

Opponents instructions

Please be sure to use you opponents profile for series you play.  We are starting to have people using the wrong profiles again and I want to nip this in the bud.  It is hard ot manage at-bats when people are not using the appropriate profile.  I realize sometimes e-mails get lost but make every effort to contact you opponent as well as the league office if you have not received the profiles.  I will do my best to remedy the situation.  If you have made the effort, no penalty will be forthcoming.  The same is not true if the mistake was just due to carelessness.

At the half way point

The Cajuns sill hold a seven game lead in the  Molitor Division .  The Rednecks pulled into second place seven games back and theUsual Suspects are eight games off the pace.  In the Puckett the Rivermen are playing .800 ball and with a 13 game lead have seemingly already ended the race.   The Badsneakershave now opened up a nine game lead over the second place Solons.  The Ryan is still up in the air.  The Mets have stormed into the lead with the Longballers still close on their heels two games back.  The Pioneers are only four back even though they are under .500.  The wild card races are a little more interesting.  IN the Telgemeier the Solons and Sharks lead the way with the Longballers and Pioneers with in three games and three other teams within seven games.  In the Bialaszewski, The Harts and Rednecks hold the wild card spots bu the Jacks and Suspects are only a game back.

Rivermen Champions

Congratulations to the 2004 NADA Champion Zen Rivermen.  The Rivermen rolled to victory over the Pioneers five games to two.  They hit .371 as a team, scored 41 runs and hit 14 homers in the seven game series.  The Pioneers hit .323 and scored 34 runs of their own but it just wasn't enough.  Ultimately, it came down to the Home Runs the Pioneers only managed one in the series although there were many opportunities where one big hit could have turned games around.  Timely hitting was really the difference in the series.  Ramon Hernandez was named series MVP hitting .423, scoring 5 runs and driving in 5 one of them a game winner.  The balloting was close as Carlos Beltran (.280, 3 HRs, 9 R and 4 RBIs) and  Trot Nixon (.321 3HRs 5 R and 7 RBIs) also had big series
